Most people waste their time looking for a startup job on LinkedIn.

That’s a great start (esp. for networking), but not the most efficient place.

These 10 platforms will help you land a job at a startup 10x faster than LinkedIn:

⚫ 1. Y Combinator

An accelerator for US startups. Y Combinator has produced the highest number of successful startups than any other accelerator, the likes of Airbnb, Stripe, Coinbase, etc.

And they also happen to have a killer job board, don’t miss out on using it.

⚫ 2. Wellfound

Updated every day with all types of roles across industries.

They even have a filter to help you check what the average salary is for your job position which can help you negotiate if you’re feeling unsure.

Best filter: the remote work filter ;)

⚫ 3. VentureLoop

VentureLoop has partnerships with venture-backed startups and offers access to exclusive startup job listings.

⚫ 4. CrunchBoard

CrunchBoard, affiliated with the well-known tech news platform TechCrunch, has a great list of startup jobs.

⚫ 5. RemoteOK

One of my top-rated job boards for remote work, both at startups and other types of online businesses like e-commerce.

⚫ 6. EU-Startups

A European-focused job board that helps startups find talent globally.

⚫ 7. We Work Remotely

A job board that specializes in remote work opportunities. Updated daily.

⚫ 8. Built In

A job board focused on connecting startups with local and international talent.

⚫ 9. Long Journey Ventures

LJV is a venture capital fund, but they also have a curated job board that they update regularly. Many VC websites have a job board section, so just do some research and find a few, such as Female Founders, Vitalize Angels, BBG Ventures.

⚫ 10. Dynamite Jobs

A job board that posts only 100% work-from-home jobs, many of them for various online businesses and some startup jobs.

🟠 Other tips for finding a job at a startup:

🔶 Check out Crunchbase. It is the leading resource for all kinds of data on early stage startups to Fortune 1000. There is no direct job board but you have an endless list of startups to scroll through (and then check their website).

You can use the filter to narrow down to a specific industry. You’ll find companies on there you’d never hear of anywhere else.

The Crunchbase newsletter also has a section at the bottom where they list a number of startups that are hiring.

🔶 Be creative and send a funky cold DM.

🔶 Subscribe to newsletters in your industry, many of them have a jobs list at the bottom.

🔶 Only apply for jobs you really want and are suited to, don’t waste your time applying to anything and everything with zero thought behind it, it never works.
